Dear Friends & Families,
It has been almost a week since we returned from our Sask STM trip, and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for your prayers and support. We truly could not have done this without our Lord and without each of you walking alongside us.
Once again, God has opened my eyes to witness His amazing work—drawing people together, deepening relationships, and showing His love through every interaction. It was such a blessing to see how He placed each member of our team so perfectly, using our unique gifts to serve in different ways and touch different lives.
I am especially thankful for the opportunity to return for a second year, allowing me to continue building on relationships formed last year. It was wonderful to reconnect with the teens and friends we met before—catching up on life, sharing stories, and seeing how God has been at work in each of our lives.
Here are some highlights from our trip:
Worship in Unity – We joined our denomination church in Meadow Lake for Sunday worship. One of our team members even prayed in Cantonese for the congregation. Though we speak different languages, it was a beautiful reminder that we are all brothers and sisters under God’s kingdom.
Serving at the Door of Hope – We helped clean, prepare lunches, and spend time with those they serve. We also brought love from our church family by delivering donations and purchasing needed items for their Food Bank.
Waterhen First Nation Fellowship – Over cooking and conversation, we learned more about their culture while strengthening old and new friendships. The evening ended with laughter, dancing, and a joyful celebration of friendship.
Youth Centre Activities – Our team served in every way possible—deep cleaning, cooking, crafting, sharing meals, and doing activities with the teens. They taught us how to make Indian Tacos and even showed us the art of beading. It was beautiful to see relationships grow from strangers to friends, and to witness how the teens bonded with each other as well.
Campfire with Our Hosts – Tim and Judy, our wonderful hosts, blessed us with their love and hospitality, which truly reflected Christ’s love.
Supporting the Turning Point Youth Centre – We met with Belinda to hear about their needs, including a plan to build a backyard fence for more youth space. As a team, we decided to donate our remaining funds to help make this project possible, purchasing the materials so they are ready when the work begins.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every prayer, word of encouragement, and act of support. This trip would not have been possible without you.
We praise God for His faithfulness—answering prayers, opening doors, providing for our needs, protecting us, and speaking to us individually. We will continue to seek His guidance.
Please continue to pray for:
TPYC leadership – That God would continue to use Belinda, Michael, and Nick to share His love with the youth in Meadow Lake.
The youth and communities – For Waterhen First Nation, Flying Dust First Nation, and the Door of Hope community, many of whom face challenges. Pray for God’s protection and that hearts will open to seek Him.
Our team – As this STM ends, that we will take time to reflect, listen to God’s leading, and discern what He has next for us.
We will have our team debrief in August and a sharing session in September—we hope you can join us then. There are so many stories to tell that it’s impossible to capture them all in this email. With 11 of us on the team, each one has a unique experience of how God guided and worked through us during this STM trip.
Thank you again for covering us in prayer. If you would like more details or have any questions, please feel free to contact us and come talk to us.
With love & blessings,
Emily
